This week marks 10 years since Reader Cement Products commissioned its first state-of-the-art Arodo 400 packing lines, following the major Phase 1 investment by parent company, Langley Holdings plc.
With the Arodo 500 lines coming online just weeks later – and further expansion through Phase 2 adding additional high-capacity packing capability – the investment represented a major step forward in modern cement packing technology at our Nottinghamshire facility.
While this was a transformational chapter in Reader’s development, it was far from the beginning of the story. With a long-established heritage in cement blending and packing, Reader has grown to become Europe’s largest independent cement blending and packing facility and forms part of the global engineering and industrial group, Langley Holdings.
Over the past decade, the scale of operations at Reader has continued to grow significantly, with the site achieving:
- Over 55 million bags of product packed
- More than 799,000 pallets of quality packed products despatched
- Over 41,000 HGV collections completed from site
- More than 44,000 tanker deliveries of raw materials received
Reader Managing Director, William Langley: “The investment made by Langley Holdings 10 years ago transformed our packing operations and positioned Reader as Europe’s leading independent cement blending and packing facility.
As we mark this milestone, we thank our employees, customers, suppliers and partners for their contribution to Reader’s continued success and look forward to the next chapter in the company’s development”.
