Administration Assistant (Apprentice)

Reader Cement Products Ltd (est. 1985) packing facility at Pinxton and Sutton in Ashfield Nottingham are looking to recruit a Junior/Apprentice Administration Assistant to work as part of a small team in their Production Office.

  • £4.15 to £6.00 per hour depending on age/experience
  • 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday
  • Hours 8.30 am to 4.30pm with a 30 minute unpaid lunch break
  • 28 days annual holiday and a workplace pension scheme.

Job Description – Administration Assistant (Apprentice)

Purpose of Role:

To support the day to day running of the logistic process, collating production data and generating reports based upon the information and production processes of the Pinxton and Sutton production facilities.

Reporting to: The Production Manager / Operations Manager

Key Responsibilities / Activities:

  • Act as a support link between all operational departments to help incorporate systems and procedures into practice.
  • Responsible for the production data collection and inputting processes.
  • Responding to emails/telephone contacts and processing orders in a timely and professional manner.
  • Work to given deadlines/targets and update Management of any potential delays
  • Sales Administration/Reception cover for Holidays/Sickness
  • Keeping database records and spreadsheets up to date
  • Strong IT Skills – proficient in MS Excel, Outlook, and Word
  • Adhere to company quality standards following QA training
  • Ability to interact and co-operate with all company employees
  • Confident with internal and external phone calls and meetings where required

Cleaner/General Operative

40 hours per week Monday to Friday - Overtime available**

8 hour shift working is required (double day shift).

Purpose of Role:

Responsible for the up keep and maintenance of the grounds at Pinxton/Sutton including grass cutting, strimming, pruning, removal of fallen leaves and litter as necessary.

Good housekeeping duties in the manufacturing areas.

Cleaning duties including windows, painting offices and general/basic maintenance projects around the site

Driving Licence essential

Reporting to: The Operations Manager

Production Manager/Team Supervisor

Key Responsibilities / Activities:

FLT Counterbalance/Packing Machine Operators

Reader Cement Products Ltd (est. 1985) new packing facility at Pinxton and Sutton in Ashfield Nottingham are looking to recruit an experienced fork lift truck(Counterbalance)/packing machinery operators, this is a dual role and training in machinery operation will be provided but you must possess a valid FLT licence:

  • £9.36 per hour
  • 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday
  • Overtime available
  • Shift working Monday to Friday, can be days/back shift or occasional night shifts

These are permanent positions with 28 days annual holiday and a workplace pension scheme.

Purpose of Role:

To undertake the safe movement and conveyance of all production materials and incoming raw materials across all areas of the site and work on other duties within the company blending & packing facility when required..

Reporting to: Operations Manager/Team Supervisor

Key Responsibilities / Activities:

  • Load and unload products from trailers using Forklift Trucks and other material handling Equipment.
  • Transport products to and from production lines to trailers and stock yard
  • Ensure correct Product Labelling
  • Maintain neat controlled stockyard material and stock rotation
  • Vigilance to ensure correct materials are loaded onto correct vehicles
  • Deliver products to various site locations in a safely and timely manner
  • Clean work area and Equipment regularly by removing empty pallets and
  • Plastic and maintain clean safe stockyard area
  • Perform Preventative maintenance, recommending repairs and performing routine maintenance
  • Carry out pre & post operation machine inspection
  • Maintain all material handling equipment by recharging, cleaning, oiling, refueling including other necessary actions and record all information on log sheets
  • Record information regarding movements of supplies,materials and finished
  • Products and Bag Reels
  • Study production schedule to determine material requirements, movements and
  • Deliveries
  • Carry out production operational duties when required including undergoing training on all areas associated with the companies blending and packing plant.
